Create a Pictograph in MS Excel

A pictograph is a pictorial graph of some values. In other words: A Pictograph is a way of showing data using images. Usually when we create a graph in MS Excel we get a simple bar graph or other charts available in Excel but not a pictograph. In this post I will show you the way to create a pictograph in MS Excel.

Step 1] Open Microsoft Excel

Step 2] Select the names and values for which you want to create a pictograph as shown in following picture.

Step 3] Click on bar graph in insert section:

Step 4] Select 2-D bar graph as shown in the picture.

A bar graph will be created.

Step 5] Now right click on the bar graph and select Format Data Series.

Step 6] Select Fill->Picture or texture fill->File and select a picture to create a pictograph:

In my case I have downloaded a picture of green, red and blue balls that I will use one by one.

Step 7] Select Stack option:

Repeat the procedure for all the values.
Your Pictograph will look like this:

By default we have unsorted lists, hence a random graph is created. We can sort the list using sort option.

Step 8] Select the values and right click, select Sort –> Sort Largest to Smallest

Now you will have a well sorted Pictograph.

Recovering Deleted Files, Pictures & Videos

So many times we accidently delete some important files, pictures or videos. Sometimes we loose files because of unexpected system failure ( ultimately causing system format). We can get our deleted files back using Recovery Softwares/Utilities. Even though a file was deleted there is a good chance that contents of the file are still around. When a file is deleted the contents of the file are not removed. Only a pointer to the file in the file system table is deleted.
