Error 678 revisited

All internet users (specially Indian users) face this error very often. I have already discussed about error 678 and error 796 in a previous post. In that post I have tried to list down all the possible methods to avoid this type of connectivity error.  This is a revision post and gives you a quick remedy for error 678.

Main cause of this error: The main cause of this error is poor connectivity. You get to see this error when remote server does not respond to your request (your attempt for connectivity).

Most of the times there is no problem at server end, the problem exists with your system or modem you are using to connect. If you see this error, you can try out following remedies:

1. Switch off / Switch on Modem (Power Switch at the back of modem) and wait for 2 minutes and try again to connect.

2. Make sure your modem is configured properly (according to the values given by your ISP)

3. If you still get the same error Check DSL or link lamp in your modem. It should be stable, it should not blink, if it is blinking, Check Modem to splitter connectivity.
i) Remove & Connect the cable of / to the modem and to the splitter
ii) Remove & Connect the telephone connection of the splitter.

If lamp is still blinking - then it is due to poor line condition / fault. Call lineman for line change.

4. Use a good antivirus program, it may happen because of Viruses.
5. Sometimes your Windows Firewall resists the connection, disable the Firewall and try to connect.

Recovering Deleted Files, Pictures & Videos

So many times we accidently delete some important files, pictures or videos. Sometimes we loose files because of unexpected system failure  ( ultimately causing system format). We can get our deleted files back using Recovery Softwares/Utilities.  Even though a file was deleted there is a good chance that contents of the file are still around.  When a file is deleted the contents of the file are not removed. Only a pointer to the file in the file system table is deleted.   It is very important to immediately stop writing to the storage device that previously contained your files/pictures so that the old file contents are not overwritten.  For example, don’t take any more pictures with your digital camera because new pictures will overwrite the deleted files. HOW TO RECOVER DELETED FILES???? Step1: You will need to use a utility to recover your lost files. I like to use a free ut...
