Computer Tweaks

Since from last many days I have been receiving emails from my readers, who are telling me that we have deviated from what actually we had started with. We are focusing more on internet and social media not on simple computer tweaks. So I decided to start again that series of tweaks, tips and tricks.... In this post I am going to show you how to create a shortcut to lock the screen. Once you have locked it you need to login again. If you have password set, then you will need to give password otherwise simply login by clicking the log on button. -->>The quickest way to lock your computer screen is to just use the Win+L keyboard shortcut. Some people prefer to use the mouse to lock the workstation, however, or would just like to have both options. Here’s how to easily create a shortcut to lock Windows 7, Vista, or even Windows XP as well. Right-click wherever you want to create the shortcut, choose New, and then Shortcut. Enter the following text into the shortcut te...

You might have noticed that many people are updating about Facebook timeline. So what actually a Facebook timeline is ? Mark Zuckerberg noted that the original Profile in Facebook was sort of like the last five minutes of your life. The updated Proile from 2008 extended that to show what was sort of like the last 15 minutes or your life. The new Profile unveiled now is “the rest,” This new feature is called as Timeline. The look of profile is actually "Your Life on Facebook", TechCrunch says it looks bit like a very nice blog on Tumblr, even I agree with it. For me the facebook timeline is astonishing. All that I have done on Facebook came in front of me. It has three main parts: all your stories all your apps a new way to express who you are I would suggest everyone to give it a try. Important things to note: - You probably don’t want to do this unless you’re actually a developer. Expect bugs. - Only you will see your timeline at first (unless you d...

Google+ invites were in high demand when the service first launched in July, and the service attracted 20 million visitors in its first month. Since then, however, the service seems to have lost some of its luster. Facebook has also launched a number of features that challenge what were initially selling points of Google’s offering. The leading social network revamped Friend Lists and made changes to the News Feed, both of which bring Google+ Circles-like functionality to the site. The new subcription option of Facebook is also in the talks, and for me it's just awesome. Facebook has done all these changes just before Google+ went public. Now that Google+ is open to everyone, we’ll see if  it can beat Facebook in the race of social media.

We very well know what MySpace was and where it stands today. Tom Anderson the co-founder of MySpace says something about todays social giant Facebook and newly born Search giant's social baby Google+. He never spoke before about the failure of his company but he explined about Google+ in his post on G+ and gave some idea why they failed. Check it out. " Google+ seems like a "reaction" to Twitter/Facebook. But are you starting to see the ways that Google+ just makes Google a better, more integrated set of services? Google already has top-notch products in key categories--photos, videos, office productivity, blogs, Chrome, Android, maps and (duh) search. Can you start to see/imagine what Google+ does for Gmail? Picassa? Youtube? Not to mention search? The +1 system that Google now has control of (unlike Facebook Likes) can really influence and change the nature of their search. My original vision for MS was that everything got bette...

Steve Jobs belongs to the league of famous college drop-outs that include Bill Gates ( Microsoft), Larry Ellison ( Oracle), Michael Dell (Dell) and Richard Branson (Virgin group).    Jobs, whose personal wealth is about $9 billion, in early years survived on money he got from selling coke bottles and weekly free meals at Hare Krishna temple in Oregon.  Jobs traveled to India in search of spiritual enlightenment and took to Buddhism, shaved his head and wore Indian cloths. Worked with HP in Palo Alto in California where he met Steve Wozniak, with whom he founded Apple Publishing house Simon & Schuster is set to publish the authorized biography of Jobs in November that will include his resignation. In the multiple-Oscar winning Hollywood movie Forest Gump, the lead character by the same name, played by Tom Hanks, refers to Apple as "some sort of fruit company" whose shares Gump ends up owning. In July 1976, Apple sold its first PC, ...
