While at the prompt, typing in one or more letters a file or directory name contains will auto complete the name in alphabetical order. For example, when at the C:\> prompt type the below command.                   C:\>cd p                         After the above command has been typed, instead of pressing the enter press the tab key. When you press the tab key the first directory that begins with p will be automatically typed into the command. Continuing to press the tab key will cycle through all available directories including the "Program Files" directory. This shortcut can be used any time you need to type a file name or directory in a command.

Use the below start command to open Windows Explorer window for the current directory you're viewing in the Windows command line. For example, if you were in the C:\Windows> directory, typing in the below command would open the Windows folder in Windows Explorer. start .

Use the below start command to open a web page from the command line. For example, the below command would open the Computer Tweaks home page from the command line in your default browser.  start http://www.computertweaks.in/

Open the Windows command line directory of any folder in Windows by holding down the Shift key on the keyboard, right-clicking on a folder , and choosing the Open command window here option from the menu that appears. Using this tip you can quickly open any folder in the Windows command line without having to use the Windows command line commands to navigate to that directory. In the picture to the right, is an example of what this menu looks like when done properly. Keep in mind, if you do not hold down the Shift key this option will not be visible.

The Security Center Popup Notifications of Windows are really very annoying. Some times they just drive you crazy!!   Here are some steps to disable them:   1- Double click the security center icon to open it. 2- Click “Change the way Security Center alerts me”. You will see a dialog with three choices. 3- Choose the last choice if you want to disable the security popups. If for some reason you need to restore the security popups again, follow the steps above and choose “Yes, notify me and display the icon” and you will again start getting annoyed!(Lolz), just kidding, these notifications are actually important, if your system is under threat.

Sometimes you may face this problem, you are trying to open Microsoft Outlook but it shows following screen: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook, Cannot open the Outlook widnow". So, what is the solution? how should I resolve this problem? There is a simple way to do it. Just follow the steps given below: 1) Go to RUN 2) Type "Outlook.exe /resetnavpane" 3) Press enter and Your Outlook will start working, you will be able to open it.

In Windows you can't see file extensions (by default).  You still will be able to see your files extensions if needed by simply following these steps: 1- Click Start button. 2- In search field type folder options and click “Folder Options” 3- Wait for a while, link for “Folder Options” will appear 4- Click the link for Folder Options   5- The Folder Options dialog box will appear 6- UnCheck   “Hide extensions for known file types” 7- Click OK button You will now be able to see the file extensions!!!
