Some little known facts about Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs belongs to the league of famous college drop-outs that include Bill Gates ( Microsoft), Larry Ellison ( Oracle), Michael Dell (Dell) and Richard Branson (Virgin group).    Jobs, whose personal wealth is about $9 billion, in early years survived on money he got from selling coke bottles and weekly free meals at Hare Krishna temple in Oregon.  Jobs traveled to India in search of spiritual enlightenment and took to Buddhism, shaved his head and wore Indian cloths. Worked with HP in Palo Alto in California where he met Steve Wozniak, with whom he founded Apple Publishing house Simon & Schuster is set to publish the authorized biography of Jobs in November that will include his resignation. What is DOS?

What is DOS? You might have heard this word a lot of times, right? DOS is Disc Operation System. It is Microsoft's first operating system. The command line screen (black screen) that you see no of times from your Windows, that command line is basically an interface to work under DOS environment. DOS was the most basic operating system. With no fancy interfaces, only a black screen and sometime blue screen you could see. All the instructions or commands are given to DOS through command prompt.  In above image you can clearly see the C prompt i.e. "C:\>". All the commands are given from such Command prompts be it C prompt C:\> or D prompt D:\> or may be E prompt E:\>. Please refer following images for few DOS commands.

Google + attracts 25 million users

SAN FRANCISCO: Google Inc's new social network has attracted 25 million users, making it the fastest website to reach that audience size, according to data released on Tuesday by comScore. Google+, launched in late June, had 25 million unique visitors as of July 24 and is growing at a rate of roughly one million visitors a day, comScore noted in a presentation. In contrast, it took Facebook about three years to attract 25 million visitors, while Twitter took just over 30 months, according to comScore. While the data show Google's latest attempt at breaking into social networking has started strongly, it may not mean the project is a long-term success. MySpace grew to 25 million unique visitors in less than two years -- faster than Facebook or Twitter. However, it's lost a lot of visitors in the past year, comScore data show. McAfee discloses Biggest Ever Security Attack

BOSTON: Security experts have discovered the biggest series of cyber attacks to date, involving the infiltration of the networks of 72 organizations including the United Nations, governments and companies around the world. Security company McAfee, which uncovered the intrusions, said it believed there was one "state actor" behind the attacks but declined to name it, though one security expert who has been briefed on the hacking said the evidence points to China. The long list of victims in the five-year campaign include the governments of the United States, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Vietnam and Canada; the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); the International Olympic Committee (IOC); the World Anti-Doping Agency; and an array of companies, from defense contractors to high-tech enterprises.
