Get rid of New Facebook Chat

The new facebook chat is annoying. It's just rediculus and we all want to get rid of it. Unfortunately there is no option given by facebook to go back to older chat. But there is one way we can use older chat. Simply follow the link http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php and you will see older facebook chat. The complete page will show only Chat like other chatting sites. But it will let you browse through the lists you have created. And you will be able to chat with the desired list. Using this you will easily find out who is online or who is available to chat. This was the only way I could find to use older chat.

Google + 1 buttons

Facebook like buttons and social plugins had taken the web by a storm. Nearly every other website added one or more social plugins, be it the “Like” button, Comment box, Friend sharing or the Fan box. Now it looks like the web giant (Google) also wants to join the bandwagon of "Public recommendation" by adding a new button to it's search results. The new button has been named  +1 by Google and it has started to roll this live for several users across the globe. The concept is simple you will see a +1 button in your search results after each link. If you find that link worth you click on the +1 button. Now, whenever your friends , followers or colleagues (all your contacts) will search for the same thing they will see that you have recommended that link at earlier point of time. They trust the link because they trust you so they will first see your recommendations. In this way popularity of the link increases and it gets more chances of getting into search results...

Import your Facebook contacts to Google +

Do you want to import your Facebook friends in Google+ ? It's very simple, you only need to have your contacts file in CSV to import into Google + but unfortunately we don't have any feature in FB to export contacts so you need to use this method to get all your contacts from Facebook to Google plus 1. Login to your Yahoo mail account (if you dont have create one) 2. Goto contacts 3. Import contacts 4. Choose facebook 5. Goto contacts again 6. From actions button on navigation bar choose export all 7. Choose Yahoo! csv format 8. Save file 9. Login to Gmail account 10. Goto contacts 11. Import contacts 12. Browse to Yahoo CSV file 13. Goto your Google+ circles page and now you can see all your facebook friend, now you can add them to appropriate circles.

Google + did you get an invite?

Google Plus was launched last week. It is the third attempt of Google at capturing a piece of the social networking pie (Orkut, Buzz and Wave are all Google products). As Google + is in the limited lanch state, you need to get an invite to become a user of this service. Well, I was lucky enough to be invited. And I must admit that, while the Mountain View-based company has taken a few pages out of Facebook, it has also added a few nifty features to Plus. One of the better features is the option to create 'Circles' that lets you share different content with different sets of people based on the Circle you have added them to. And then there's 'Hangout' that allows you to create a video chat room for up to 10 people.  There is a lot to share about Google + and it's features, that will be discussed in our coming posts.
