In Windows you can't see file extensions (by default).  You still will be able to see your files extensions if needed by simply following these steps: 1- Click Start button. 2- In search field type folder options and click “Folder Options” 3- Wait for a while, link for “Folder Options” will appear 4- Click the link for Folder Options   5- The Folder Options dialog box will appear 6- UnCheck   “Hide extensions for known file types” 7- Click OK button You will now be able to see the file extensions!!!

Microsoft has developed a tool that scans your computer, and it will let you know if your computer is ready for Windows 7. if not you will get a report  the tool is call Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor If your PC can run Windows Vista, it can probably run Windows 7, but some thing as the graphic device is not Windows 7 compatible you can still install Windows 7, no worries the desktop will be loaded with basic configurations without Desktop Windows Manager ( DWM ) which gives the transparency and 3-D look to windows 7.   Download the tool: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor
